Description Of User Fines & Penalties
Fines are issued upon 3rd false alarm within a calendar year. Fines start at $25.00 and accrue by $25.00 for each false alarm occurrence within the calendar year up to the 10th false alarm. Eleven + alarms are fined at $300.00 each. Non-permitted alarm systems are fined $150.00 (for each false alarm occurrence in addition to any other penalties that may apply).

Description and Comments
The False Alarm Reduction Unit is established under the Calvert County Department of Public Safety and is referred to as “FARU”. The mission of FARU is to encourage alarm users and alarm businesses to maintain operational reliability and to properly use alarm systems to reduce and/or eliminate false alarm dispatch requests. This ensures that emergency personnel are able to respond to true emergencies.
